Don Burrell
Don Burrell is a judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals Southern District. He assumed office on January 13, 2008. His current term ends on December 31, 2034.
Burrell ran for re-election for judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals Southern District. He won in the retention election on November 8, 2022.
Biography
Education
Judge Burrell was born on December 4, 1960, in Springfield, Missouri. He received his bachelor's degree from Southwest Missouri State University in 1983 and his J.D. from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law.
Career
After working for approximately four years at a radio station, Judge Burrell began his legal career as an associate at the law firm Morrison & Hecker in 1991. In 1993, he clerked for U.S. District Judge Kathryn Vratil. After this, he ran a solo law practice until November 1998, when he was elected circuit judge of the 31st Judicial Circuit. He held this position until his appointment to the court of appeals in 2007.
