I’m Don Enos, a newer and engaged Blaine resident, Planning Commissioner, and Vice President of the Blaine Chamber of Commerce, running for Blaine City Council because I believe our city deserves forward-thinking, community-first leadership rooted in experience, transparency, and action. With over 30 years of professional success in business development, real estate, and local economic growth, I bring a strategic, people-centered approach to solving complex problems and unlocking new opportunities for Blaine. I’ve helped families and local businesses navigate everything from homeownership to entrepreneurship, always guided by the philosophy that “Forward-Thinking People Think Backward” — meaning we align today’s choices with tomorrow’s goals. Whether it’s strengthening downtown vitality, promoting sustainable growth, or advocating for better jobs and public spaces, I’m committed to protecting what makes Blaine special while helping it thrive. As your councilmember, I will listen closely, act ethically, and work tirelessly to create a future we can all be proud of — together.

• Put Blaine First‌ - I will always put Blaine’s real needs first. I supports local families, small businesses, and community-driven solutions over outside influence. Every decision I makes will focus on what works best for people, not politics.
• Protect Our Waterfront‌ - Blaine’s waterfront reflects our values, our history, and our future. I will champion development that creates economic opportunity, protects fisheries and access, and preserves the natural beauty that defines us.‌
• Lead With Clarity‌ - Blaine deserves a strong voice on City Council. I lead by listening, showing up with clarity, and takes action with purpose. My commitment is simple. I will represent your voice at every step.‌

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Housing for All by helping restore our community to one that supports families first over policy, good schools, and good living-wage jobs.

What qualities does this office possess that makes it a unique and important part of the state government and legal system?

It provides a voice on policy that ultimately may limit individual rights.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Transparency in all things

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Represent the people within the community through thoughtful leadership, always looking towards the future needs of those who cannot speak or vote, but are often most affected by poor, short-sighted decisions.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I want my legacy to be one that reflects action to do better for others

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

Aside from mowing lawns and picking strawberries, my first real job was working as a deckhand on a shrimp boat in the San Juan Islands over the summers from middle school until my sophomore year of high school.

What is your favorite book? Why?

Who Moved My Cheese? " applies to everything wrong in society today. Many people are unaware that their cheese has moved while they are not looking.

Are there any little-known powers or responsibilities held by this office that you believe more people should be aware of?

Yes, more people need to understand that only through engagement and participation will they be able to create a better, thriving community. Currently, we lack a voice of change to make the community better, allowing for the few to dictate policy that will adversely affect future generations.

Do you believe that it's beneficial for holders of this office to have previous experience in government or politics?

No, I believe the lack of experience will bring new insights to a system that has been corrupted by legacy politicians who seek individual gains.

What kind of skills or expertise do you believe would be the most helpful for the holders of this office to possess?

Listening, Follow-through, and selflessness

It provides a voice for the people
