Biography
Don Gates was born in Columbus, Nebraska. As of October 2020, Gates had served in the U.S. Army since 1982. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska in 1990. He earned a master's degree from Wayne State University in 1997. He earned a master's degree from U.S. Army War College in 2015 and another master's degree from the National Defense University in 2019. Gates' career experience includes working as an operational architect, a business development manager, a marketing manager in sales and technical sales, an IT consultant, and a notes email administrator. He has served as a member with the National Rifle Association since 1979 and as a lifetime member since 2001; he has served as a lifetime member with the Reserve Officers Association since 1993, with the American Legion since 1994, and with the Veterans of Foreign Wars since 2005. He has been affiliated with the Non-Commissioned Officers Association, with Omicron Delta Kappa, with Pi Gamma Mu, and with the Society of Information Management.[1][2]
