Don Gosen (b. January 16, 1963) is a former Republican member of the Missouri House of Representatives, representing District 101 from 2010 to February 17, 2016. He resigned under pressure from House Speaker Todd Richardson (R). Richardson asked Gosen to resign on February 16 after he was "made aware of the situation." Gosen said he resigned to spend time with his family and to deal with rumors that were circulating about him.[1] On February 18, 2016, Gosen admitted to having an extramarital affair.[2]

Biography

Gosen earned his B.S. in business administration from the University of Missouri in 1985 and his MBA from the University of Missouri in 1989. His professional experience includes working as an insurance agent at State Farm Insurance and co-owner of Tin Mill Brewing Company.

Elections for the Missouri House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 25, 2014. Candace Farmer was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Don Gosen was unopposed in the Republican primary. Gosen faced Farmer in the general election.[3][4] Incumbent Gosen defeated Farmer in the general election, and was re-elected to another term.[5]

Gosen won re-election in the 2012 election for Missouri House of Representatives, District 101. Gosen ran unopposed in the August 7 Republican primary and ran unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[6][7]
