Lantis ran in the 2012 election for South Dakota House of Representatives District 16. Lantis and Kevin D. Jensen were defeated by incumbents James Bolin and Patty Miller in the Republican primary on June 5. Juanita Grewing and Ann Tornberg ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
