Don McCorkle is the District 7 incumbent on the Lancaster County School Board in South Carolina. He won against challenger Freeman Burns in the general election on November 4, 2014.

The November 4, 2014, general election in Lancaster County School District featured four seats up for election. District 3 incumbent Bobby Parker and District 5 incumbent Janice Dabney were both running unopposed. District 1 incumbent Don McCorkle ran for the District 7 seat and won, where he defeated challenger Freeman Burns. Incumbent Mary Etta Taylor did not file for re-election. Three candidates, James Brooks, Melvin Stroble Sr. and Lewis White, sought the District 1 seat, with Brooks triumphing over his fellow challengers.

Funding

Candidates were required to file a quarterly finance report with the South Carolina State Ethics Commission for the November general election by October 10, 2014. This report covered the period of July 1, 2014, through September 30, 2014. Candidates were also required to file a pre-election report no later than 15 days prior to the election. A final report was due after the campaign had closed. Candidates for local school boards could not accept more than $1,000 from individuals and $5,000 from political parties.[1]
