Don Moffitt was a member of the Durham City Council in North Carolina, representing Ward 3 from 2013 to 2017. He lost a re-election campaign in the primary election on October 10, 2017.[1] Click here to read Moffitt's response to Ballotpedia's 2017 municipal candidate survey.

Although city council elections in Durham are officially nonpartisan, Moffitt identifies as a member of the Democratic Party.[2]

Moffitt earned a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.[1]

Moffitt's professional experience includes work as a grocery story start-up and expansion consultant for the CDS Consulting Co-op and as a store director, regional president, and vice president of store development for Whole Foods Market.[2] He has also served as the president of the Eno River Association Finance Committee and the chair of the North Carolina Conservation Network Finance Committee and the Durham City-County Planning Commission.[1]

Vernetta Alston and Shelia Ann Huggins defeated incumbent Don Moffitt and Lenny Kovalick in the primary election for the Ward 3 seat on the Durham City Council.[3]
