Don Myers (Kansas)
Don Myers was a Republican member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 82nd District. He served from 1993-2011.
Myers, who has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, worked as a Senior Specialist Engineer at Boeing.
He is a member of the American Legion, Derby Chamber of Commerce, Derby First Christian Church, National Rifle Association, and Veterans for Foreign Wars.[1]
Policy Positions
Myers' website lists his legislative accomplishments[2], these include:
- voted for protection of Marriage Amendment
- worked for limited government
- voted for tougher abortion laws
- voted against large increases in sales, income and property taxes
- voted for additional education support without a tax increase
- Authored and successfully passed English as the official state language bill
Myers refused to take Project Vote Smart's 2008 Political Courage Test. The test, which is administered to all candidates for presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, and state legislative offices, asks one central question - "Are you willing to tell citizens your positions on the issues you will most likely face on their behalf?"[3]

Myers did not run for re-election to the Kansas House of Representatives in 2010.
2008
On November 4, 2008, Myers was re-elected to the 82nd District Seat in the Kansas House of Representatives, defeating Anita Hafner (D).[5] Myers raised $23,169 for his campaign, while Hafner raised $5,203.[6]
