Don Shaw
Don Shaw was a 2015 Democratic candidate for District 13 of the Virginia House of Delegates.[1]
Biography
After growing up in Kentucky, Shaw joined the United States Army. He served in the Army for 15 years then transitioned to the United States Air National Guard, serving for five years.[2]
Shaw earned a master's degree in public administration from Troy University and a master's degree in information management from Syracuse University. At the time of his candidacy, Shaw was studying public policy at George Mason University.[2]

2015
Shaw highlighted the following themes on his campaign website:[3]
- Healthcare
- Excerpt: "Don believes that Medicaid expansion makes good fiscal sense and he supports closing the gap in Virginia."
- Equality
- Excerpt: "This includes pay equity for women, the right to marriage for LGBT Virginians, and non-discrimination policies in our workplaces."
- Women's health
- Excerpt: "As the next delegate from the 13th district, he will fight government attempts to restrict reproductive freedom. Women should have the right to make their own healthcare decisions in consultation with their doctors and whomever they deem necessary."
Elections
2015
Elections for the Virginia House of Delegates took place in 2015. A primary election was held on June 9, 2015. The general election took place on November 3, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 26, 2015.[4] Don Shaw was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Bob Marshall was unopposed in the Republican primary. Marshall defeated Shaw in the general election.[5][6]
