Don Stewart is the Trustee Area 4 representative on the Lucia Mar Unified Board of Education in California. He was first appointed to the board in January 2013.[1] Stewart won re-election in the general election on November 8, 2016.[2]

Three of the seven seats on the Lucia Mar Unified School District Board of Education were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. In her bid for re-election to the Trustee Area 2 seat, incumbent Vicki Meagher ran unopposed and won re-election. Trustee Area 4 incumbents Dee Santos and Don Stewart defeated challenger Karen Campbell Bright to win additional terms.[2][3]

Five seats on the Lucia Mar Unified School District Board of Education were up for general election on November 4, 2014. Trustee Area 1 incumbent Chad Robertson, Trustee Area 2 incumbents Colleen Martin and Mark Millis and Trustee Area 3 incumbent Vern Dahl ran unopposed and won re-election to four-year terms. Trustee Area 4 incumbent Don Stewart also ran unopposed, but as he was appointed to his seat, he was re-elected to a two-year term. Because each seat up for election was unopposed, this election did not appear on the ballot.[8]

This election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Trustee Area 1 incumbent Chad Robertson, Trustee Area 2 incumbents Colleen Martin and Mark Millis and Trustee Area 3 incumbent Vern Dahl won re-election to four-year terms by default. Trustee Area 4 incumbent Don Stewart won re-election to a two-year term by default.[8]

Funding

Stewart filed Form 470 with the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder, indicating he did not intend to raise or spend more than $1,000 for his 2014 campaign. Because of this, Stewart did not have to file any additional campaign finance reports.[9]
