Don Thomas (b. July 14, 1933) is a former Republican member of the Georgia State Senate, representing District 54 from 1997 to 2011. He did not seek re-election in 2010.[1]

Thomas was Chair of the Whitfield County Board of Education from 1972 to 1984.

Biography

Thomas graduated from Georgia Southern University and earned his M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia. His professional experience includes working as a Medical Doctor for the Family Practice of Medicine from 1960 to 2000, Family Physician for Whitfield Medical Professional Associates and President of the Hospital Board Staff in Dalton.

2008

On November 4, 2008, Thomas won re-election to the Georgia Senate from Georgia's 54th Senate district. Thomas ran unopposed in the general election, and he received 40,950 votes.[2] Thomas raised $124,250 for his campaign.[3]
