Donald Banks
J. Donald Banks was a judge of Circuit 13 in Mobile County, Alabama.[1] He was appointed in 1998 and he retired on December 31, 2015.[2][3]
Education
Banks received his B.S. in industrial management from the University of Alabama in 1971. He earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1977.[2]
Career
Banks worked as a private practice lawyer in Mobile, Ala., from 1977 until 1998. He also served as a municipal judge in Citronelle (1980-1997) and Bayou La Batre (1989-1990). From 1983 to 1989, he was a city prosecutor for Bayou La Batre. He has also worked as an adjunct professor of business law at the University of Alabama.[2]
Military
Banks served in the Alabama Army National Guard from 1971 to 2001. He was a command judge advocate from 1981 to 1997. He also served active duty in the U.S. Army from 1990 to 1991 and was awarded a Bronze Medal for his service.[2]
2012 election
Banks was re-elected after running unopposed in the general election on November 6, 2012.[4]
