Donald Hudson was a judge of the Illinois 2nd District Appellate Court. He assumed office in 2009. He left office on April 11, 2023.

Hudson was assigned to the Illinois Second District Appellate Court in January of 2009. At the time of his assignment, Hudson was a judge on the 16th Judicial Circuit Court. He was retained in 2012 and 2018.[1][2][3]

Hudson died in April 2023.[4] He was replaced on the Illinois Second District Appellate Court by Margaret J. Mullen on May 11, 2023. [5]

Education

Hudson graduated from DePaul University for his bachelor's degree and from the John Marshall Law School with his J.D. degree.

Career

Hudson began his judicial career in 1993, when he was appointed an associate judge. In 2000, he was elected circuit judge for the 16th Judicial Circuit Court. He served as the chief judge of this court from December of 2004 until his assignment to the Appellate Court in 2008.

2012 election

Hudson was retained to the Circuit Court on Nov. 6, 2012 with 79.5 percent of the vote.[2][6]
