An effort to recall Councilman Donald Watson in Warwick, Georgia from his position was launched in 2014. The recall petition was dismissed in court on December 9, 2014.[1]

Watson was targeted for recall over a September 10 meeting at city hall without public notice.[1]

A court decided that though Watson technically violated the Georgia Open Meetings Act by attending a meeting at city hall without public notice, he did not do so willfully or intentionally. The court ruled that his actions did not constitute misconduct in office and were not grounds for a recall.[1]
