Education
Davenport received an A.S. degree in religion from North Greenville College in 1972. She received an A.A. degree in law enforcement and a B.S. degree in criminal justice from Middle Tennessee State University in 1979. She continued on to receive her master's degree in criminal justice administration from that same school in 1980. In 1986, Davenport received her J.D. degree from the Nashville School of Law.[3]
Career
Davenport began her career as an attorney in private practice. She and Judge J. Mark Rogers worked from 1995 to 1998 under the title Rogers and Scott Attorneys at Law. She also worked part-time as a referee for the Rutherford County Juvenile Court (now called a "magistrate"). In 1999, Davenport became a full-time referee of the court. The following year, she was elected as judge of the Rutherford County Juvenile Court. She has also taught as an adjunct professor at Middle Tennessee University since 1996.[4]
