- A strong upstate economy is good for the entire state of New York. Each economic region can benefit from the collective strengths of the others.
- Stagnant government is the result of "all or nothing" politics. We risk undermining all of the progress we have made by ignoring those with different perspectives.
Major pieces of legislation that have an impact outside of their district should also be addressed with research, because their vote will still impact New Yorkers. Every State Senator should always act in a bi-partisan manner, but this is most important when confirming non-elected appointees and judges.
