Biography

Applyrs earned a master’s degree and doctorate in public health from the University at Albany School of Public Health.[1] Before she was elected mayor, Applyrs was Albany's Chief City Auditor and a member of the Albany Common Council representing the city’s first ward.[1] Her other career experience includes working as a clinical associate professor in the Health Policy, Management, and Behavior Department at the University at Albany School of Public Health as well as being a member of the Albany County Board of Public Health.[1]
