I received a Bachelor of Arts in literature, music, philosophy, and science from Wheaton College in Illinois. My experience includes being a children’s violin teacher and a pastor’s wife. My husband and I have four wonderful adult sons who are married to four wonderful wives and all of them together have a large number of children.
- Give our children hope and a future!
- HOW? By studying great minds of the past that have advanced mankind.
HOW? By scientific investigation of the physical world.
My motto is “Education by and for the people.”
People have an amazing ability to understand their problems and solve them.. Our children should get a better education while in public high school than they can in today’s colleges. They should be equipped to join the workforce upon graduation and get jobs at thousands of fusion energy and space exploration projects.
Students can become highly intelligent by reading the primary works of Plato, Kepler, Leibniz, and Shakespeare in small discussion groups. My vision is to begin group reading of primary texts, and then, develop classical music choral program--to turn every child into a Genius!
In recent years, our school board failed to stand up to State mandates. It kept Lynden Schools closed to in-person learning when no teachers or students were ill! Our students lost nearly a full year of education due to the board’s failure to listen to local parents, rather than Olympia bureaucrats. I am seeking a way to restore proper accountability to our school board and end its weakness.
Age-Inappropriate policies like Sex Ed For Kindergartners, Genital Mutilation, and Critical Race Theory, do not belong in our schools. Rather,
Return Education To Our Constitutional Roots!
My first job was picking avocados and irrigating an orange grove, and I had this job all through high school.
The first historical event I remember was the moon landing.
I look up to George Washington for his sound judgment and his commitment to fight our enemy the British Empire even when the prospect of victory looked dim.
The primary job of a school board member is to represent the will of the people concerning the quality of public education in a local area. School board members are completely responsible for the quality of education within a school district. School boards are meant to direct the district's administrative personnel to carry out the will of the people regarding the children's education in a local area.
My constituents are all the people living in a certain geographical area marked by school district boundaries.
We are called upon to follow the highest principles enunciated in the Preamble of the United State Constitution which include viewing ourselves as one united nation under God that seeks to promote the general welfare of all people living within our borders as one sovereign nation.
We are unwise to parse out separate needs, because all American people need to see themselves as created of equal importance in the sight of God and as being one nation which shares both the work and the benefit of a republic.
I build relationships by speaking with people.
I build relationships with people by going out and meeting them.
The ideal group where the best learning can take place is one which largely remains together as a small class throughout the years they are in school. Teachers rotate in and out to teach various subjects which the teachers truly love and understand. The students and the teachers get to know one another through dialogue, challenging discussions, good humored spontaneous debates, consideration of paradoxical ideas, the primary reading of books authored by the great minds which have advanced mankind, and many other similar studies.
The plan I propose, which assures that public schools receive their due funding, is to insist that all people, whether they be governor, judge, legislator, or bureaucrat, read and follow the Washington State Constitution, which calls for a uniform and high level of funding tor all school districts equally. If the state reneges on its duty, then the local school district will be called upon to lay off administrators and teachers, as well as draw upon volunteers from the people who desire to personally teach young people in small discussion groups. My plan is basically to de-regulate the school administrative burden and make education a simple matter of speaking to young people about the world, discoveries, and the future of our country.
The principle driving my policy for safety in the schools is to know every child and young person by name along with their parents and family. Our economy needs to become a physical one based on making new scientific discoveries, conducting outer space and natural resource exploration, and developing new forms of nuclear energy, water management, and transportation, so that the American people may receive family-supporting wages which will provide hope for the future and a busyness with fruitful endeavors and meaningful acts that are able to direct one's attention away from vice and murderous plots to shoot hundreds of people, and then, finally, to kill oneself. Beautiful music needs to fill people's souls and this will come about as our culture is lifted up from the mire through the process of discovering how beautiful classical music truly is!
The characteristics and principles which are most important for elected representatives of the people to have are sound judgment, mercy, and faith.
I believe the core responsibilities of a school board member are to visit the schools, listen to the teaching, and observe the education.
