Dorothy Brown
Dorothy Brown (Democratic Party) was the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court in Illinois. Brown assumed office in 2000. Brown left office on December 1, 2020.
Brown ran for election for Mayor of Chicago in Illinois. Brown was disqualified from the general election scheduled on February 26, 2019.
Brown was disqualified due to successful challenges to their petition.[1] In August 2019, Brown announced that she would not seek re-election as Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court in 2020.[2]

Cook County held elections for county board of review, state's attorney, clerk of the circuit court, county recorder, and special districts in 2016. The general election was held on November 8, 2016. A primary election was held on March 15, 2016.[3] Incumbent Dorothy Brown (D) defeated Diane Shapiro (R) in the Cook County clerk of the circuit court General election.[4]
