Why are you seeking election?

Marshfield School District is a strong school system that provides every child in our community a solid educational foundation. A strong school system does not happen by chance, however. We must work together to maintain a system that reflects our community’s values, and the highest educational standards. In both my personal and professional life, I am committed to building strong communities and strong schools. For this reason, I am seeking re-election.[5]
—Dorothy Chaney (2017)[6]

Why should voters elect you?

Over the past three years, it has been an honor to serve on the board of education, serving as board clerk, chairperson of the policy committee and serving on the curriculum and instruction committee. I have spent hundreds of hours on the phone and sitting over coffee with community members, listening to their views, concerns and hopes for the School District of Marshfield. I hope that I have demonstrated my commitment to community members and representing community concerns.[5]
—Dorothy Chaney (2017)[6]

What do you want to accomplish if elected?

I believe that the School District of Marshfield will always be a strong, thriving district. The “Marshfield Way” has set our district apart from other districts. I hope to continue to serve as the chairperson of the policy committee, and to continue to ensure that we have policies in place to advance innovative educational approaches and support staff and students. I also am committed to ensuring that we are fiscally responsible to the taxpayers who we serve.[5]
—Dorothy Chaney (2017)[6]

What is your background in local government?
