Dorothy F. French Mallen is a judge for the 18th Judicial Circuit. She was elected to the court in 2010.[1] French was retained in the general election on November 8, 2016.

French Mallen earned her J.D. from the Chicago Kent College of Law in 1978.[2]

Career

Prior to her judicial election in 2010, French Mallen was an associate judge for the 18th Judicial Circuit. She was appointed in 2001, before which she worked as a trial attorney and partner at the law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson. She concentrated on the defense of personal injury cases.[2]

2016

Judges of the Illinois Circuit Court stand for retention after their first full term. To be retained, a judge must receive at least 60 percent of the vote.[3][4] Dorothy French Mallen was retained in the Illinois Eighteenth Circuit Court, Dorothy Mallen Retention Election with 80.91 percent of the vote.
