Dorothy Heffron
Dorothy Heffron (also known as Dot) is a member of the Chesterfield County Public Schools in Virginia, representing Clover Hill District. She assumed office on December 17, 2019. Her current term ends on January 1, 2028.
Heffron ran for re-election to the Chesterfield County Public Schools to represent Clover Hill District in Virginia. She won in the general election on November 7, 2023.
Heffron announced her resignation from the Chesterfield School Board, effective December 31, 2025.[1]

Noteworthy events
Chesterfield School Board resignation (2025)
On September 14, 2025, Heffron announced her resignation from the Chesterfield School Board and apologized for a statement she made on Instagram. On September 10, 2025, Heffron posted a private Instagram story where she wrote, "Call me old fashioned, but I remember when we used to be okay with shooting Nazis." Heffron said she posted the note before she found out that Charlie Kirk had been murdered. Her statement was later shared on X by the Libs of TikTok account.[2][3][4]
In a statement, Heffron said, "I deeply regret the pain that my post has caused. It was never my intention to make light of violence or to suggest that harm to anyone is ever acceptable. As an elected official and as someone entrusted with the responsibility of supporting students, families, and educators, I should have shown better judgment."[3]
