I have spent nearly 40 years in public service and education as a teacher, coach, administrator and school board member. During my career in Augusta I have been an advocate for public education through my support of students in both their academic and athletic endeavors. My academic degrees in business and education have led to continued service in the Augusta community. Upon retiring from public education, I have remained invested in the community through my involvement with the Kansas Cannons collegiate baseball team and with Go! Augusta (our Chamber and Main Street organization). I have demonstrated unwavering support of public education and local government control through my service on the Augusta USD402 Board of Education and as a former Butler Community College Trustee.
  • Fully funding public education; to include special education; and ensuring that PUBLIC FUNDS go to PUBLIC SCHOOLS gives students equal access to a quality education. Kansas children are our most valuable resource.
  • I support tax policy that continues the state's economic growth while making meaningful and responsible tax cuts benefiting all Kansans. Helping to reduce the property tax burden is a priority.
  • Medicaid expansion will offer healthcare access to thousands of additional Kansans lowering costs, supporting hospitals, and contributing to healthier families and communities.
My background and my passion is public education. The majority of our school districts have declining enrollment. The funding formula must be tweaked so that they can keep their doors open. Public schools are the heart of most all communities. We must insure they are fully funded and we must be diligent in rejecting school vouchers that will bleed dollars from them.
I have always admired Abraham Lincoln. He fought through many public and personal challenges to lead the nation during it's most challenging time. Though not to the same degree, the nation faces similar challenges today. I hope cooler heads prevail.
Honesty and integrity along with a open mind. It seems the truth is easily twisted during an election cycle.
Giving constituents your time and attention. The far-right agenda with it's billionaire backers and PACs has too much control over the legislative branch in Topeka. I will bring a moderate approach to the House.
Being sent home from kindergarten on November 22, 1963 and all of the television coverage of JFK's assassination.
Definitely! I believe we should united in our goals rather than our political party.
We have a government build on balance of power. Let's use common sense for the common good.
