After graduating from Baylor with a degree in accounting, I began a career in public service at the White House under President George H.W. Bush. In 1996, I graduated with a masters degree in journalism from Univ of Missouri and became a financial investigator, combining my accounting and reporting skills to uncover fraud and corruption. As former Republican who became a Democrat in 2024, I believe in service over partisanship and serving the people with integrity and decency.
Achieving the rank of Eagle Scout instilled in me the importance of community service at a very early age. For the past 30 years, I have served my community through my church in Beaumont (First United Methodist Church) and Washington, DC (Foundry United Methodist Church) where I have worked on various homeless and community programs. I have also worked directly with the Trever Project and on committees for a professional theater company. In addition, I served on the board of my local citizens association where I served as President.- Promoting prosperity for ALL Americans...not just the wealthy
▪ Make the wealthy pay their fair share. A billionaire should NOT pay a lower federal tax rate than their Secretary. The top 10% of wage earners in the US are currently paying some of the lowest federal tax rates in history. ▪ End tax breaks that favor the wealthy over working families ▪ Pay our bills today without passing the burden to our children and grandchildren. Lower Cost of Living • Bring down the price of groceries, gas, and utilities • Support small businesses and local jobs (not corporations outsourcing jobs)
• Strengthen relief during natural disasters that hit Southeast Texas first and hardest - Protecting healthcare in Southeast Texas ▪ Stop cuts to Medicaid and CHIP; ▪ Keep rural hospitals open; ▪ Ensure every Texas has a place to go for emergency care.
- Lower cost of living ▪ Bring down the prices of groceries, gas, and utilities ▪ Support small businesses and local jobs ▪ Strengthen relief during natural disasters Investing in our future • Support teachers, public schools, and vocational training • Expand broadband in rural communities • Protect Social Security and Medicare for future generations
