Career

Before becoming a Nineteenth Circuit West judge in 2009, Schrantz spent 15 years as a district judge and municipal judge, for Benton County and the city of Rogers, respectively. He practiced privately in Rogers as well up until his election to the circuit court. He was a partner in the firm Boyer, Schrantz, Rhoads and Teague. Schrantz was a Rogers city attorney from 1978 to 1986 and spent around 14 years as the attorney for Bella Vista Property Owners Association. He was admitted to the bar in 1977.[6][2][7]

Approach to the law

Schrantz was quoted in the Benton County Daily Record:

I tend to talk in a common language to folks so they understand my decisions. They may not agree, but I want them to understand my decision. I know sometimes lawyers speak a different language, but we need to be able to break it down so everyone understands.[7] - Doug Schrantz[8]
