Doug Wilson
Doug Wilson was a 2018 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 12th Congressional District of Ohio. Wilson was also a 2018 Democratic special election candidate for the same seat.[1]

| “ | 1) Adapting the ACA to become a single payer universal health care system with Medicare for all as its base. Creating a system that combines less efficient care delivery systems, including the VA and providing more comprehensive care. It should include preventive care and education, counseling services for substance abuse and mental health and other services not currently provided by many private insurers.It should protect women's health rights and acces to care. 2) Addressing both major social issues of our opioid crisis and lack of sensible gun control measures. What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?
| “ | Education is the path to improved opportunities for social and economic justice. I believe that a program of national service for our young people upon graduation from high school should be created. Service could be either in the military or alternative areas such as the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps or other community service organizations. For each year in service the students would receive a year's tuition credit at public colleges, technical or trade schools and those who have completed their secondary education in vocational schools in skilled trade or tech fields could enter apprenticeship programs with trade unions and skilled trade organizations. Such a program would give students time for self-discovery and growth, a period of service to their communities and help them continue their higher education without accumulating the burden of staggering student debt. Keeping the bond of trust requested when running for office to do the job of representing those electors for the term elected, not quitting the job for personal gain or to seek higher office mid term. Accessibility. Holding regular town hall meetings throughout the district to hear the interests and concerns of the people.
