He has extensive and well-rounded experience in the judicial arena which makes him the best prepared candidate to serve as your next Superior Court Judge for Pacific and Wahkiakum County. Doug has been married for over 35 years to his wife, Mary. His daughter, Darcey, is an attorney in Seattle and his son, Joseph, is an engineer in San Diego. He was elected by his peers to the Board of a Statewide Judge's Association. While serving on this board he has given a voice to the rural cities and counties throughout the State. Doug's message to the people of Pacific and Wahkiakum counties: “I have been blessed to be happily married, to have two amazing children, and to live in a beautiful part of our State. 2016
Washington held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. Candidates for district and superior court seats had to file for election by May 20, 2016. Primary elections were held on August 2, 2016, for six seats where more than two candidates filed for election. Douglas Goelz defeated Michael Turner in the Pacific/Wahkiakum Superior Court nonpartisan general election for Position 1.[5]
