Douglas S. Russell
Douglas S. Russell was a judge of the Sixth District of Iowa. He was appointed to this position in February 1999.[1] His final term was set to expire in 2018, but Russell retired prior to that in April 2015.[2]

2012
Russell was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 79.39 percent of the vote.[3][4]

Education
Russell graduated from Grinnell College with an undergraduate degree in 1971. He went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Iowa in 1978.[1]
Military service
Russell served in the U.S. Army.[1]
Career
Russell began his career in 1978 as an assistant Johnson County attorney, serving in this position until 1980. He then worked as a private practice lawyer until his judicial appointment in 1999.[1]
