Two Dover City School District Property Tax Levy Renewal questions were on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Tuscarawas County, which is in Ohio, where they were approved.
The first question authorized the Dover City School District to renew a property tax levy of $2.4 million for 10 years in order to fund emergency requirements of the District. The rate above the 10 milll limitation necessary to raise these funds is estimated to be 6.4 mills ($6.4 per $1,000 of assessed valuation).
The second question authorized the Dover City School District to renew a property tax levy of $2.79 million for 10 years in order to fund emergency requirements of the District. the rate above the 10 mill limitation necessary to raise these funds is estimated to be 8.4 mills ($8.4 per $1,000 of assessed valuation). “ | Shall a levy renewing an existing levy be imposed by the Dover City School District for the purpose of providing for the emergency requirements of the school district in the sum of $2,400,000 and a levy of taxes to be made outside of the ten-mill limitation estimated by the county auditor to average 6.4 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to 64 cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a period of 10 years, commencing in 2013, first due in calendar year 2014?
