|- I am a strong, proven, servant leader. I have years of experience in organizational leadership in churches, local boards, and the Amarillo Board of Trustees. I am a peaceful leader, always listening to stakeholders, staff, and students. I am a bridge builder working parents, other local entities, and staff do do what it takes to prepare every student for life beyond High School.
- I am an experienced leader in Education. With my formal education, my experience in the classroom, continued service in the classroom, and my 5 years of service on the board of trustees, I bring unique experience and insight to the board. This experience allows me to see the questions to ask and make the wise decisions for our schools.
- I'm willing to make the hard decisions. Whether it is decisions regarding school consolidation because of declining attendance, decisions regarding curriculum, or decisions like developing and building AmTech Career Academy, I am willing to dig deep and stand on what is best for students, parents and the community. AmTech gives students opportunities to explore and invest in career paths including culinary arts, veterinary sciences, dental sciences, auto mechanics, HVAC, machinery, welding, building and more. This allows students to come out of high school with marketable skills that are in high need in our city.
