I’ve lived in Port Angeles for over 20 years. I moved here in 2003 while my father was stationed at Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles. I grew up primarily in Ohio where most of my family still lives. Originally, I intended to move back to Ohio after graduating from Peninsula College but fell in love with the area and decided to stay.

My wife, Robynn, is a lifelong resident of Port Angeles. We became engaged on Valentine's Day 2009 while on Ediz Hook and were married in June of the same year. When not serving on a council, committee, board, or commission, I enjoy reading, watching movies, and playing games.

I earned a BAS, AAS, and several certificates from Peninsula College focusing on management, marketing, and business administration. Since 2010, I’ve owned and operated the store Anime Kat in downtown Port Angeles. Prior to being elected in 2023 to the Port Angeles City Council, I served on the Port Angeles Planning Commission and the Port Angeles Safety Advisory Board.
  • As a small business owner, economic development is always one of my passions. I will continue to support local economic development through reducing burdens on small businesses, investing in infrastructure, expanding affordable housing, and supporting workforce development.
  • I will continue to work on finding ways to reduce homelessness by expanding affordable housing, improving access to services, and fostering community collaboration while also supporting the Port Angeles Police Department through strategic investments, policy reforms, and collaborative initiatives. Support includes lobbying the state for police reform based on the recommendations of the PAPD.
  • Port Angeles is lacking affordable and attainable housing. I will continue to work on finding ways to reduce policy bottlenecks, increase city infrastructure to aid in development, and find ways to reduce financial burdens on prospective homeowners, builders, and developers.
I’m passionate about economic development because I’ve seen firsthand how a strong local economy benefits everyone by creating well paying jobs, supporting small businesses, and strengthening our community. As a small business owner, I understand the challenges entrepreneurs face and the importance of reducing barriers, investing in infrastructure, and expanding workforce opportunities. I’m committed to fostering sustainable growth, improving housing accessibility, and building partnerships that help our community thrive. Economic development isn’t just policy, it’s about empowering people and creating lasting prosperity for Port Angeles.
The most important characteristics for a council member are integrity, transparency, and accountability. Council members must act honestly, make decisions based on Port Angeles’s best interest, and take responsibility for those decisions. Effective council members are good listeners who engage with citizens, understand diverse perspectives, and communicate clearly. A commitment to serving Port Angeles and improving the community should guide every choice a council member makes.
The first historical event I remember from my lifetime was the start of the air campaign of Operation Desert Storm on January 17, 1991. I was six years old at the time. My father was serving in the Coast Guard, and we were stationed in Florida. The event stood out to me as a child because of my family and friends who were deeply connected to military service. Even at that young age, I remember the sense of seriousness from the live news coverage.
