Duane Borchers, Sr.
Duane Borchers, Sr. (b. December 24, 1941) was a 2016 Republican candidate for District 44 of the West Virginia House of Delegates.[1]
Borchers was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 44 of the West Virginia House of Delegates. He was defeated in the general election.[2]
Biography
Borchers earned his A.A. from Spokane Falls Community College in 1976.His professional experience includes working as a lineman and local manager for General Telephone Co., wire crewman for the Library of Congress and owner of the Maryland Silver Company. Borchers served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964, working as an electronics tech with a rank of ETN2.

Elections for the West Virginia House of Delegates took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 13, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was January 25, 2014. Incumbent Dana Lynch was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Duane Borchers, Sr. was unopposed in the Republican primary. Lynch defeated Borchers in the general election.[2]

Borchers ran in the 2012 election for West Virginia House of Delegates, District 44. Borchers was defeated by Robert Karnes in the May 8 primary election.[7][8]

Borchers was defeated by one of two candidates running for one position in District 36 on the ballot in the November 2, 2010, general election. He was defeated by incumbent Democrat Joseph Talbott.[9][10]
