This measure would renewed the current school levy and would have gone towards operational costs of the school. The County officially placed this on the ballot as well as determined the amount of the levy on August 4. The current school levy does not expire until 2013 so school officials decided to put this on the ballot early in case it was not approve the first time.[4]

The levy renewed would have been in the amount of 7.2 mills. This measure would have also approved a bond for the school district in the amount of $25 million. The bond money would have gone towards additional classrooms, upgrading technology and equipment and maintenance costs of the school district.[5]
