Duke was born and raised in the heart of the recently redrawn 75th Assembly District in the Trade Lake farming community. After graduating from Grantsburg High School, Duke enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served in Desert Shield/Storm as a combat communications specialist. Duke, with his wife Roxanne, proudly raised their two daughters in Grantsburg.

Duke has served as the Operations Manager at Grantsburg Telcom for 28 years and has been heavily involved in the community.

• American Legion Post 185- Life Member & Past Commander • Milltown VFW Post 6856- Life Member • Chamber of Commerce- Past Board President • World Championship Snowmobile Watercross- Past Executive Director • Grantsburg Public Library- Past Board of Trustees President • Grantsburg Girls Fastpitch- over 15 years coaching/volunteer umpire • Licensed WIAA Softball Umpire • Water Commissioner- Towns of Grantsburg, Town of West Marshland • Grantsburg Fire Department- Long Range Planning Committee • Wisconsin Bear Hunters Association-Member • Nation Rifle Association-Member • Burnett County Board of Supervisors- District 7 • Wisconsin Conservation Congress- Burnett County Delegate

Duke takes great pride that he has always done his best to be the best husband & father he can be while also serving the community. Duke looks to serve the 75th District people in what he calls a “Continuation of Service”. Politicians are to serve with Integrity and respect shown to all citizens.
  • I'm new to politics and proud to call myself a politician. Politicians are to serve the people with integrity and respect shown to all...and that's how I will serve. Government, at any level, doesn't belong in your personal life and should budget its spending with a great amount of respect for hard working taxpayers, while also:

    • Promoting Strong Family Values • Community Safety- Drug Related Crimes • Recruiting & Retaining Law Enforcement Officers • Protecting our 2nd Amendment Rights • Protecting and Restoring Private Property Rights • Solve Problems without being Divisive/Negative

    • Promoting Community Service Programs Inmates
  • Education- We need to focus our education system more towards preparing students to be self-supporting soon after high school graduation. This includes sticking closer to core curriculum subjects of science, arithmetic, reading, civics, history, and STEM. In order to become self-supporting soon after graduation, young adults should have a basic knowledge of what type of employment they would be interested in, have a basic understanding of personal finance, an interview process, and receive drivers education training. Some schools in the district do not offer drivers education as an available class. Almost every job in the district available to young adults, require a means of transportation.
  • I'd like to earn the personal endorsement of all individual voters within the 75th Assembly District. Here's a list of current endorsement from some fine local leaders: • Rep. Gae Magnafici • Senator Romaine Quinn • Rep. Chanz Green • Rep, Angie Sapik • Rep. Michael Schraa • Burnett County Sheriff Tracy Finch • Past Burnett County Sheriff Ron Wilhelm • Past Rep. Adam Jarchow • Past Rep. Erik Severson • Past Rep. Mark Pettis
Educate Students to be Self-Supporting Soon After High School Graduation: Supporting careers in the trades and getting high school graduates into the workforce is critical. Less government restrictions on employers will lead to greater business success, allowing for job creation. We need our young people to join the private workforce with a passion to be self supporting and knowing that they can achieve the American Dream.
I look up to many people. I look up to people who have the courage to stand for something...even if I disagree with them.
The best way to understand my political and person philosophy is to:

Google " Grantsburg School District - Veterans Day 2022 Guest Speakers - Hope and Duke Tucker"

or go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=EROMgkZnK0w
During my time in the USAF, I was provided with the "Six Traits & Twelve Principles of Leadership". I've looked to these in guiding me through the past 30 years of community involvement:

Traits- Integrity, Loyalty, Commitment, Energy, Decisiveness, Selflessness

Principles- Know Your Job, Know Yourself, Set the Example, Care for People, Communicate, Educate, Equip, Motivate, Accept Your Responsibility, and Develop Teamwork
I care and listen to people, but at the same time I don't really care for whiners that have no interest in being part of a solution. I sleep like a baby when I do the right thing, regardless of the circumstances. I don't sleep well if I've done someone wrong.
Simply to represent the nearly 60,000 people in the 75th Assembly District using the Traits and Principles I listed.
When my Aunt forced me to puff on a cigarette when I was four or five...I've never smoked since.
Handy Dandy Helpful Hal
There is too much political divisiveness and disagreement based on party affiliation. Regardless of who the Governor is or what party they belong too...it is primarily the Governor's responsibility to set the example for legislators to follow as it applies to relationships.
Not necessarily, but it depends on the legislator. Some may become corrupted more easily than others.
Absolutely. I've been involved in many community organizations and boards. There must be positive relationships in order to achieve results.
No. Just like life in general or becoming very good in your chosen profession...you must observe and understand what you do and don't like about how others carry out their duties, then learn from that while "internally" building your self into being who you want to become in that role.
Maybe. But that is up to "We The People". If I feel that I have earned their trust and support, I'll continue serving. The oath I took to defend our country against all enemies foreign and domestic is a lifelong one.
I'm hearing just how irritated and disappointed many citizens are regarding how divided we are as a society. It hurts to hear that and it needs to change through hard work and honest service.
Very Carefully. Emergency Powers are used in situations that are not an emergency. They are used too much as a political power tool.
My first bill wouldn't be a game changer, but would be important. My first bill will allow me to understand the bill creation and passing process well before I go to more serious concerns I'm hearing about. That being said, my first bill will most likely revolve around requiring drivers education as a mandatory offering in public schools. If a graduate is to have a job...they need to be able to get to and from that job.

Government transparency and accountability questions like this...shouldn't even be asked. It's a basic expectation of citizens.

Scorecards

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
