Durwood W. Conque was a judge of the 15th Judicial District in Louisiana. He was elected to the position in 1987 and was re-elected in 1990, 1996, 2002 and 2008.[1][2][3] He retired after his final term expired on December 31, 2014.[4]

Education

Conque received his B.A. degree from the University of St. Thomas in 1967. He then attended the University of Houston for post-graduate studies for a year. He served in U.S. Army Intelligence from 1970 to 1972. In 1972, he received his J.D. from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Herbert Law Center in 1972.[1][3]

Career

Conque began his career in 1973 as a practicing attorney emphasizing in municipal government and personal injury law. He worked in that capacity until 1987 and was also a city attorney in Abbeville from 1980 to 1987. He then joined the District Court.[1]
