I grew up in Brownwood, TX and relocated to Nederland, TX midway through my high school career and I graduated from Nederland High School. I pursued my undergraduate studies at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX achieving a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management in 2002. In 2008, I earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration through the University of Phoenix.

My wife, Rebecca, and I have been married for almost 17 years. She works at Frank Elementary as a library aide. Together we share two amazing children. Our son is a freshman at Klein Cain High School where he plays football. His favorite subject is math and in his spare time we enjoy hunting together. Our daughter is in her last year at Frank Elementary. She loves to bake and spend her time with friends and family.

I worked for Walmart for 20 years. 15 of those years was in corporate leadership and 5 years was in store operations as a store manager of three Spring/Woodlands stores. Three years ago, I changed careers and became a financial advisor. I enjoy helping my clients achieve their financial and retirement goals.

Throughout my life I have always been called to service of others. I began a career in the fire service 24 years ago. I have served as a firefighter, captain and district chief within 3 departments throughout those years. I currently volunteer w/ Klein Fire Department and serve on the board of the Kailee Mills Foundation. I have volunteered with Klein ISD for 5 years .
  • Ensure the focus of decision is what is best for the students of KISD. We must never and will never steer away from the fact that all decisions must hinge on what is best for the 53,000 students of Klein ISD. • Continue to focus on transparency of the taxpayers dollars and to ensure they are spent wisely and efficiently. I will use my business background to ensure the district is continuing its 10 years of success by meeting the needs of the district in a fiscally responsible fashion.
  • Focus on supporting initiatives that serve the special needs children of our school district. We must have the top-notch programs for our special need's kids. Special need student populations are growing faster each year. We must continue to develop our special need programs and ensure they have the proper support and funding to provide our student with the best technology and new initiatives to support their learning and development.
  • • Ensure we employ our own moral language rather than allow our school district to be confined by categories of critical race theory. We will focus on excellence, a common standard that challenges people of all backgrounds to achieve the potential. We will encourage to understand our history, the true history of America. The American story is one of injustices but place them in context of how our nations high ideals and the progress that has been made because of those injustices.
I do not believe in mandates. I believe in democracy.
I still look up to my father. Being a father myself I understand how challenging it can be to have a successful career, balance other activities and still be a great dad. He accomplished all three.
The Oklahoma City Bombing. I remember being in school when it happened. I was worried about loved ones that lived in Oklahoma City and this was the first time that I realized how are safety is not guaranteed. It also inspired me to become an emergency responder as I watched the hero's running into help when all of the others were running away.
I was a life guard for 5 years through high school. This was the start of my dedication to service to others. I enjoyed helping others and being involved in emergency situations. This led to my desire to become a Firefighter.
To oversee the budget, supervise (hire or fire) the superintendent, final determination of disciplinary action for faculty/students, develop/approve certain policies. The best way to address differences is to work them out and talk through the situation. Determine a way to come to a consensus. Superintendent and her staff handle the day to day operations of the district.
The tax payers of Klein ISD.
As a trustee on the board, Promise to Purpose means that we must ensure that our school district continues to focus on developing every child to achieve academic excellence. We must support programs that are best for educating the students and developing them into tomorrow's leaders.
It is important to have the top talent of teachers and faculty from across the state. If we are going to continue to be the top school district, we must recruit top talent and ensure the district is the best district to work for.
