Longtime lawman Dustin Dorr announced his candidacy for Wagoner County Commissioner. The Wagoner County Sheriffs Office Major said his experience in law enforcement administration, ranching, land ownership, and as a parent put him in a unique position to ensure County government works for the residents, land and business owners of district 2.

As a husband and father of two, my focus over my 20 year career in law enforcement has always been keeping Wagoner County safe. I've been a rancher, land owner, and family man for just about as long; I hope to use that experience to help our community grow in all the right ways. Born and raised in Wagoner County where I graduated from Wagoner High School. A generation later I proudly watched my two children graduate from my alma mater. I joined the Wagoner County Sheriffs Office May 2005 as a volunteer. Sheriff Johnny Cannon hired me July 2006 I worked my way through the ranks to my current rank of Major. Sheriff Chris Elliott awarded me with the 2017 Outstanding Supervisor of the year award. I am responsible for spearheading the Sheriffs office popular and successful "shop with a cop program" as well as Wagoner County's Fraternal Order of Police where I served as president for two years.

A strong second amendment proponent, firearms instructor, FBI leadership Trilogy recipient and hold an advanced peace officer certification.
  • Be a voice for the people, through transparency and accountability- give district 2 residents a voice regarding County initiatives, taxes and votes Rebuild public trust - establish lines of communication for district 2 residents to air their concerns and regard their representatives as an advocate and not an obstacle
  • Be for the citizens of wagoner county and not special interest groups - prioritize tax revenue growth through new business instead of increased taxation on existing residents and business. Common sense planning and zoning- return control of land use decisions to owners. Safe roads and bridges- prioritize road maintenance in the best interest of residents and businesses.
  • Deploy resources for first responders to effectively assist mentally ill residents who pose a danger to themselves or others. Enhance access to fast, secure, affordable broadband.
There are many areas of public policy safe roads and bridges, giving citizens a voice regarding county initiatives, taxes and votes.

As a 20 year law enforcement veteran upholding the United States Constitution has always been a priority to protect citizens from an overreacting government as your commissioner I will be transparent and accountable to you. I will always be your advocate, voice of reason and a good steward of your tax payer dollars.

From painting culverts and stop signs to brush cutting, mowing and weedeating, brushhogging, laying asphalt and vehicle maintenance.
