Dustin Hite
Dustin Hite (Republican Party) was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing District 79. He assumed office on January 1, 2019. He left office on January 1, 2023.
Hite (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Iowa House of Representatives to represent District 88. He lost in the Republican primary on June 7, 2022.
Biography
Dustin Hite was elected to his first term in the Iowa House in 2018. He grew up in rural Mahaska County outside of New Sharon and graduated from North Mahaska High School. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Central College in Pella and then graduated from law school at the University of Iowa. As of 2019, he was a partner at the Heslinga, Dixon & Hite Law Firm. He served as the mayor of New Sharon and as the city attorney for several local small towns.[1]
In addition to these positions, he served on the Mahaska County United Way Board, (including stints as president, vice president, and treasurer), the Iowa Judicial District 8A Judicial Nominating Commission, and the North Mahaska School Improvement Advisory Committee. As of 2019, he served on the Mahaska County Magistrate Nominating Commission, the Mahaska County 911 Board, and the Mahaska County Emergency Management Commission.[2]
