I am a small business owner and father to three school aged kids. I was born to a 19-year-old single, working mom and have lived through challenges that many families in our community face today.

I have extensive experience in both business and in public policy. I currently run my own small business that provides executive management services to a variety of clients. My public policy experience includes managing the Aurora-based district office for a member of Congress and, prior, was the policy director for the Colorado State Senate Minority Leader. I continue to serve as a member of the Aurora Citizens Advisory Budget Committee where I recently chaired the subcommittee on transportation.

I received my bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University while working full-time at an office supply store to pay my way

through college.
  • Improving public safety; the safety of our families, our neighborhoods, our schools, and our businesses will be my top priority. I will work to prioritize not politicize public safety
  • Aurora should be the most job friendly city in Colorado. I will support small business, work to reduce regulatory burdens and keep taxes low in order to attract more jobs and opportunity to Aurora.
  • I will prioritize developing a long-term plan that improves our traffic management system and prioritizes a sustainable funding source for better roads and city infrastructure.
It wasn’t long ago when Aurora could boast of being one of the safest big cities in the country. Unfortunately, a historic surge in crime rates has drawn unwanted national attention and begun to tell a different story about the safety of our city. Your safety, the safety of your family, and the safety of your business should never be determined by which neighborhood or which part of the city you are in. Aurora should be safe for everybody, everywhere. Period.

On City Council, improving public safety will always be my top priority.

Aurora must also be open for business. Far too many families and small businesses had their livelihoods completely pulled from underneath them this past year. I’ve seen firsthand the devastation of jobs being lost, small businesses going under through no fault of their own, and the impact that has on families. I will work tirelessly for our small business owners to restore common sense policies that will bring more jobs to Aurora and deliver higher wages to employees. We cannot expect to attract good paying jobs and more opportunity for Aurora citizens by penalizing businesses and pursuing bad ideas that make our city less competitive.

In order to not only meet our future potential, but also to meet our current responsibilities, Aurora must have city leaders who will prioritize improving our roads. The maintenance of our existing roads is behind schedule and plans to meet future needs are simply inadequate. We can and must do better.
