Formerly a prosecutor in the Eagle County District Attorney's Office, I have now served in the Colorado House of Representatives since 2018 where I have worked with Republicans and Democrats to solve challenges facing our communities. I have helped lower health insurance costs on the Western Slope by over 35%, wrote and passed the first-in-the-nation bill to cap the cost of insulin for people with diabetes, led the largest investment in affordable housing development in state history, and have been a tireless advocate for protecting our Colorado water and promoting our rural small businesses and economy.
I have been rated as one of the most bipartisan and accessible legislators in Colorado and look forward to bringing my record of problem-solving and focus on results over politics to the State Senate on behalf of our mountain and rural communities.- The state legislature must have a relentless focus on lowering the cost of living in our mountain and rural communities. I will prioritize legislation that brings a long-term solution to our affordable housing crisis so we can ensure our workforce can live in the communities where they work. I will continue my work on lowering the cost of health care and child care so families can get the help they need. I will also support efforts to cut taxes and red tape on our small businesses so that they can thrive, create good-paying jobs, and improve our rural economies.
- The threat of drought, wildfire, and climate change is one that imperils our economic and personal futures. One of my top priorities will be protecting our Colorado water from front range and out-of-state interests and preparing our state for the possibility of water use restrictions imposed by the federal government. Funding for wildfire response, mitigation, and recovery must be a priority over the coming years, and doing everything we can to preserve our area's natural beauty for the generations to come will always be top of mind for me.
- As a State Senator, I will ensure that women's personal freedoms are protected in Colorado, that equality is not infringed by state law, and that our democracy is preserved..
Standing up for our Colorado water and protecting our lands.
Ensuring our next generation has the tools to succeed with well-funded education and economic opportunity.

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states. To contribute to the list of scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
