Earl Humbird is the Place 6 representative on the Alvin Independent School District board of trustees in Texas. First elected in 2014, Humbird won an additional term after running unopposed in the general election on Alvin Independent School District elections (2017)|May 6, 2017.

Humbird previously served on the board from 2003 to 2012 including a stint as president in 2012. He currently works as an operator with LyondellBasell.[1]

Two seats on the Alvin Independent School District school board were scheduled for general election on May 6, 2017. Due to lack of opposition, the election was canceled and Place 6 incumbent Earl Humbird and Place 7 incumbent Vivian Scheibel were automatically elected to another term.[2]

Due to lack of opposition the election was canceled and Humbird was automatically re-elected to another term.

Humbird explained his reasons for running in 2014 in an interview with the Manuel Reporter News:

It was my honor and privilege to serve as a school board member from 2003 to 2012 and I am ready to return. School board service involves time and commitment, which I willingly offer...

The school district has accomplished a great deal over the past few years, including the passage of a bond election in 2013 that will provide a third high school and more elementary and junior high schools for a growing student population along the 288 corridor and in the Alvin and Manvel, as well as technology to better prepare our students for a global economy...

The district has outstanding teachers and staff members who are doing a great job preparing students for a lifetime of learning. I look forward to bringing my experience to the board and continuing the district’s commitment to provide an exemplary education for every student...
