October 14, 2010
RALEIGH, North Carolina: Early voting officially began in North Carolina today and will continue until October 30. The process proved to be very popular in the state during the 2008 election.[1]
In North Carolina, the November 2 election included one U.S. Senate race, all 13 U.S. House of Representative seats, all state senate and state house seats, judicial races, local offices throughout the state and one ballot measure.
According to a Ballotpedia study, North Carolina has the 19th most competitive state legislature election in the nation. Prior to the 2010 elections, Democrats controlled both chambers in the state.
The state board of elections provides a list of early voting sites.
