Recall reports

An election to recall Al Sousa, Olive Gurney, Bill Gloekler, Don LeGrow, and Betty Obenhaus from their positions on the Easton School Committee was held on December 9, 1978. Voters recalled all five members of the school committee.[1]

Recall supporters

The recall effort was initiated after the committee did not hire the candidate many voters preferred to fill the role of high school principal and an accounting error that went unnoticed for five years resulted in a special town meeting being called to appropriate $489,000 in additional funding, which caused a property tax increase.[1]
