Adrian ran in the 2012 election for Vermont State Senate Chittenden District. He was defeated by incumbent Timothy Ashe, incumbent Philip Baruth, incumbent Sally Fox, incumbent Virginia Lyons, Debbie Ingram, and David Zuckerman in the Democratic primary on August 28, 2012. The six who receive the most votes will advance to the general election on November 6, 2012.[2]
