Ed Allen was a candidate for Place 4 on the Keller school board in Texas. He was defeated by incumbent Craig Allen in the general election on May 10, 2014.

Allen is a self-described "local, Christian, family man with conservative fiscal and family values who cares about the kids and employees of KISD." He is a certified public accountant and owns him own firm in Keller. He also serves as deacon of the Keller Church of Christ. He and his wife, Kerry, have four children, three of whom were enrolled at Keller ISD at the time of his candidacy.[1]

Funding

Allen did not file a campaign finance report with the Texas Ethics Commission.[2]

Endorsements

Allen was endorsed by special interest group Empower Texans, Texas House of Representatives member Giovanni Capriglione and political activist Andrew Chavarrilla.[1]

Campaign themes

Allen is a devout Christian. When asked at a board candidate forum if he'd be able to separate himself from his religious beliefs, Allen responded, "I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. It is part of who I am and I cannot separate myself from that." All six other candidates answered to the contrary, stating they would be able make a clear distinction. Allen is conservative in his political beliefs.[1]
