Ed Jones (North Carolina)
Ed Jones was a Democratic member of the North Carolina State Senate, representing District 4. He passed away just after his re-election in 2012, on December 14.[1]
Jones was the former Mayor/Chief of Police for Enfield. He was appointed the North Carolina State House in April of 2005. He served in that position until January of 2007, when he was appointed to the North Carolina State Senate.
Jones was State Trooper for the State of North Carolina.

Jones ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on May 8. He defeated Warren Scott Nail in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2]

Jones defeated Democratic primary challenger James Ferguson on May 4, 2010.[3] Jones won re-election to the North Carolina State Senate District 4, defeating Richard Halbert (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[4]

On November 4, 2008, Jones won re-election to the 4th District in the North Carolina State Senate. Jones had no challenger.[5]
