Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on June 24, 2014, receiving 34.3 percent of the vote. He competed against Charles E. Harrison and Neil Ridgely. Primary candidates competed for 3 seats and thus ran unopposed.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 9.5 percent of the vote. He competed against Charles E. Harrison, Neil Ridgely, John D. Carbaugh, and incumbent judges, Dorothy V. Utz and Cathy Reese for three open seats.
