Edd Houck is a former Democratic member of the Virginia State Senate, representing the 17th District from 1984 to 2012.

Houck received an A.S. at Wytheville Community College and a B.S. Ed. at Concord College. Houck also received a M.Ed. at University of Virginia. Houck is a retired public school administrator. He announced his retirement in 2007. He is a member of the Episcopal Church.

Houck ran for re-election to the District 17 seat of the Virginia State Senate. He won unopposed in the August 23 primary and was defeated by Bryce Reeves (R) in the November 8 general election.Cite error: Closing </ref> missing for <ref> tag

On Nov. 6, 2007, Houck won re-election to the 17th District Seat in the Virginia State Senate, defeating opponent Chris Yakabouski (R).[1]

Houck raised $431,276 for his campaign while Yakabouski raised $179,019.[2]
