Hawkins lost re-election to the 47th District seat in 2010. He faced no opposition in the May 18 primary.[2] He was defeated by Republican Stephen Meeks in the November 2 general election.[3]

On November 4, 2008, Hawkins won re-election to the 47th District Seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives, running unopposed in the general election.[4]
Hawkins raised $17,650 for his campaign.[5]
