McCain was a 2016 American candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of South Carolina.[1]
McCain was a 2014 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of South Carolina.[2] Incumbent Joe Wilson defeated McCain in the Republican primary on June 10, 2014.[3]
He was a 2012 Republican candidate for District 39 of the South Carolina House of Representatives.

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Republican. Incumbent Joe Wilson (R) faced no opposition in the Republican primary. He defeated Arik Bjorn (D) and Eddie McCain (American) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Bjorn defeated Phil Black in the Democratic primary. The Democratic primary required a runoff, and Bjorn ultimately triumphed by 44 votes. The primary elections took place on June 14, 2016.[1][4]

2012
McCain filed to run in the 2012 election for South Carolina House of Representatives District 39. He would have run against Ralph Shealy Kennedy, Phil Perry, and Jim Wiszowaty in the Republican primary on June 12. Incumbent Marion Frye (R) did not run for re-election.[5][6]
